What the map shows
The world map colors each country according to the US tariff applied to its products, from light beige (10%, the minimum rate) to dark red and then purple (up to 150%). The United States appears in dark gray, and countries with no data in light gray. A date slider (February 1, February 3, March 4, March 6, April 2, April 8, April 9) changes the map, and an inset box recalls the April 2, 2025 announcement of "reciprocal" tariffs, with 20% for the European Union and 34% for China. The map clearly shows the differences between countries, particularly in Southeast Asia. The data sources are not cited, and the nonlinear color scale is hard to read for high values.
