What is accepted
- Maps, interactive or static, and geographic visualisations that are public and open to anyone.
- Committed or activist maps, as long as they are sourced and presented as such.
- Personal, experimental or artistic maps, notably those made for challenges such as the #30DayMapChallenge.
What is not
- Personal data about private individuals: names, addresses, individual information.
- Blatant misinformation, and hateful, violent or illegal content.
- Maps whose link or image you have no right to share.
- Advertising, and pages that are not maps.
Moderation
Each contributor's first submission is reviewed before publication. After that, submissions go live directly, unless the automatic analysis raises a doubt (personal data, political content, a page that is not a map): the map page is then reviewed. Any map page can be reported from the page itself; every report is handled within 48 hours.
Credit and removal
Each map page credits its author and links to the original map. Maps indexed by the gallery are marked as such and can be claimed by their author. A removal request from the author, made from the map page (‘Report’ button, reason ‘I am the author’) or from their space, is carried out with no questions asked.
